The Office of the Auditor General assists the Auditor General in carrying out the mandate entrenched in Article 158(3) of the 1993 Constitution through two main sections. The Administration and Support Section provides accounting, secretarial and support services to the Office whereas the Operations Section is tasked with the responsibility of carrying out audits as planned in annual audit programmes.
The Operations Section is structured in teams of auditors reporting to Audit Managers through Team Leaders. The team leader may either be at the level of Senior Auditor or Auditor depending on the availability of staff and scope of work carried out. The Audit Managers report to the Deputy Auditor General which heads the Section.
